This book captures moments from backpacking trips in Oregon wilderness areas. Many of these are ideally suited to concert performance, therapeutic use and gig music. Up the Mountain Trail - A cheerful walking tune describes a steady climb with a pause to take in the view. Two pages.

Light Through the Trees - Meditative and tender, the music describes the flickering, filtered light of deep forest. Two pages.

Huckleberries - Like an American folksong, joyful. Your audience will love hearing this as much as you love to play it. Two pages.

Tickle Creek - Playfully intimate. Imagine your dipping your toes in the cold glacier melt stream, taking a little rest. Two pages.

Rain on the Lake - A passing shower, you stop to watch from the shelter of old growth trees. A steady ostinato produces a hypnotic effect as the rain builds, then moves along. Two pages.
This is probably my favorite piece I have ever written.

High Meadows - Sun and breezes, wildflowers and butterflies, smell of warm pine. Uptempo and contemporary, fun to play. Uses knocking on the sounding board. Four pages.

Fire Spell - Dancing flames of your campfire pull you into a trance. Audiences will love it. Very exciting piece to play, but also physically demanding. Only harpists with good technique should play this piece, and don’t over-practice, please! Four pages.

Afterglow - The last light of day fades behind the mountain. Contemplative, expressive: this piece feels like a prayer. One page.

The Stars Come Out - At first, just a few stars are twinkling. Artistic phrasing is encouraged as the sky fills with starlight, This shows off the higher range of the harp. Three pages.
Range: E2-E5, Level 3
Sunrise on the Mountain - The beauty of a new day dawning on the lake and forest as the sun crests over the mountain. This piece feels sweeping and majestic. Four pages.
