The Banks of Sullane / Paiste Fionn
Simple Gifts
Written as recorded by Kathryn Cater, harp and Sandy Norman Flute in “Walking Tune”.
Ash Grove
A much loved tune, presented sweetly and simply. There are a few accidentals that are not too challenging for lever harp, and one easy key change with plenty of time (see example below).
The Banks of Sullane / Paiste Fionn
These two pieces are arranged to be performed as a set, but stand alone just as well. To make Banks of Sullane end as a single piece, harp should change the last measure to a simple D major arpeggio, as shown below.
In A Dorian, (written with an F# in the key signature) Banks of Sullane slips back and forth between the F sharp and natural, so it is a challenge for lever harp.
Paiste Fionn, however, as a stand alone piece in D Major has no accidentals and is a delight; easy for lever harp. This was one of my favorite pieces to suggest for the bridesmaids’ processional.
All of these recordings are available as digital downloads on Itunes or Amazon.

Simple Gifts
A cheerful arrangement with an Americana feel, a glittering harp interlude, and a key change into a simpler verse. Lever harp can manage the key change, by simplifying the left hand to make C naturals. See example below.
